12 Top-Rated Resorts in St. Lucia
A dream resort vacation destination, especially for honeymooners (you can even stay in an overwater bungalow a la French Polynesia here), St. Lucia is one of the most scenically dramatic islands in the Caribbean, with two towering volcanic peaks known as the Pitons creating its skyline.
The island is home to more adults-only properties than many other parts of the Caribbean, and as such is really known for its romance factor. But families traveling with kids will also find St. Lucia ideal.
St. Lucia is an adventurous destination with activity options beyond just sitting on a white-sand beach offered from its numerous hotels and resorts. Here, you'll find hiking up volcanic peaks, including the Pitons; ziplining through the rainforest; and horseback riding along the sand all readily available. There are even mud baths and hot springs to check out.
When it comes to where to stay, resorts come in all shapes, sizes, and budget options, from five-star all-inclusive to laid-back, barefoot boutique luxury. Plan your trip with our list of the best resorts in St. Lucia.
1. Sandals Grande St. Lucian
The adults-only, five-star Sandals Grande St. Lucian is marketed squarely at couples. Home to some of the only overwater bungalows outside of French Polynesia, the property sits on a peninsula with Caribbean and Atlantic Ocean views. It is also near Pigeon Island, which is a national landmark boasting hiking trails across volcanic terrain.
Beyond the swanky glass-bottom bungalows, the St. Lucian offers a range of rooms and suites, including a Club and Butler Level to meet a diverse number of budgets.
One of the best parts about a Sandals stay is how truly all-inclusive the property is. Not only is food and beverage included, but so are all water sports, including scuba diving-and St. Lucia is home to some amazing dive sites. The property also features four different pools, each with a unique atmosphere, and 12 different restaurants, so you never get bored dining here. The food is fresh and creative.
Address: Rodney Bay, St. Lucia

2. Jade Mountain Resort
One of the most romantic, ultra luxe resorts in St Lucia, the adults-only Jade Mountain has a stunning location atop a hill with views of the jungle, ocean, and the island's landmark Pitons. The design is postmodern futuristic, and there are just 29 suites. These are amazing and have just three walls (they do have a roof) so there is a distinct indoor-outdoor vibe.
Most of the suites come with private infinity swimming pools, and those that don't have double Jacuzzi baths. Note, if a swimming pool is important, you will want to book one of the suites with a pool, as there is no communal pool option here.
Your every whim is attended to by butlers, and if you'd like to eat all your meals in your room, that is easy to arrange. If not, most of the amenities are found down the hillside at Jade Mountain's sister property Anse Chastanet Resort, which has a restaurant, a large spa, water sports, and a dive center. There is also yoga and even a mountain biking trail. There is also access to the beach.

3. Sugar Beach, A Viceroy Resort
Named for the beautiful white-sand beach on which it sits, Sugar Beach, A Viceroy Resort also has a stunning location, framed on either side by the Pitons. Sugar Beach has just under 80 rooms, and these are all super luxe, with their own private plunge pools, butler service, and a minimalist design that doesn't detract from the beauty outside. For families, there are larger villas and cottages.
Away from the rooms there is a large swimming pool, a second beach reserved for adults-only, and a wonderful spa in a tree house all on-site. There are also a few dining choices, including a beachfront dining space cooking up pizza and sushi and a more formal French-Caribbean restaurant.

Accommodation is in cottages scattered about the gardens. All are elegant and comfy with a floral motif and hand-painted sinks in the bathroom. There is just one restaurant, but the menu changes daily. Dinner is a four-course affair, while lunch is usually a buffet or barbecue. Amenities include a swimming pool, an al fresco yoga pavilion with classes, a small spa with two open-air treatment rooms, and a gym. On the beach, you can take out kayaks, Hobie Cats, and paddleboards.
