Whether you are on holiday with the kids or you are traveling for business or a romantic getaway, there are plenty of hotel options in and around Milwaukee. Where you choose to stay will depend on your budget and what you are interested in seeing in town.

In general, the Downtown area will be the top spot to get a room in Milwaukee, as this is where most of the sights and attractions are located. If you're looking for yesteryear luxury, The Pfister Hotel is a wonderful pick right downtown and on the shores of Lake Michigan. The historic Third Ward neighborhood downtown is also a good choice, with hotels like The Kimpton Journeyman.

The area around the Wisconsin Center, also downtown, hosts a number of hotels, including some excellent mid-range choices. The rooms and suites are contemporary, with large flat-screen TVs, coffee makers, and free Wi-Fi. Suites come with kitchenettes and separate living spaces.

Children under 18 stay free with an adult and there is a free hot breakfast buffet, as well as complimentary parking. Other amenities include an on-site restaurant and fitness room.

Rodeway Inn & Suites Milwaukee is not too far outside the downtown limits and one of the better budget bets around town. It is your average chain hotel, but the basic rooms are clean and comfortable and come with microwaves and mini-fridges. Staff members are very friendly.

There are also family room options if you're traveling with the kids. Parking is free as is a continental breakfast. There is a swimming pool on-site.
