San Sebastián - Monte Urgull

From the church of Santa María a stepped path leads up Monte Urgull (135m/443ft), a sandstone hill which was once an island. On top of the hill is the Castillo de la Mota, which now houses a museum of military history. The chapel of the Sacred Heart is crowned by a 12m/40ft high statue of Christ.
