Schloss Elisabethenburg

The State Museums in Meiningen's Schloss Elisabethenburg comprise a valuable art collection (pictures by European masters of the 15th-19th centuries), a Theater Museum (development of the Meiningen reform of the theater), a section on the history of music, a department of cultural history (in the Baumbachhaus at Burggasse 22; literary museum; costumes of southern Thuringia) and a department of natural history.
