Description
Schloss Elisabethenburg in Meiningen, a Baroque palace built in 1682-92 on the site of an earlier Late Gothic castle as the residence of the Dukes of Saxony-Meiningen, now houses the State Museums. It has a sumptuously appointed interior. Particularly notable are the staircase hall, the Tower Room, the Garden Room and the Brahms Hall in the south wing, formerly the palace church.
