Situation and Topography

Zealand (Danish Sjælland) is the largest island of Denmark, bounded in the north by the Kattegat and in the south by the Baltic. Many fjords, spits and bays are features of the coasts. In the northeast of Zealand the Øresund, which separates the east coast of the island from the southwest coast of Sweden, is very narrow.
