Hoover Dam

 
The Hoover Dam is one of Nevada's most impressive sights. Holding back the Colorado River and Lake Mead, Hoover Dam is a feat of engineering. The dam was built from 1931 to 1936 in a concrete gravity-arch design. The dam is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and designated a National Historic Landmark in 1985. The Hoover Dam is 48km / 30mi south of Las Vegas and over 100,000 people visited the Visitor's Center.
