Yellowstone - Mammoth Hot Springs

On the east flank of Terrace Mountain (8012 ft) are the Mammoth Hot Springs, which have formed magnificent sinter terraces. They consist of ten sinter basins from 35 ft to 200 ft high, ranged in "steps" one above the other. There are some 60 hot springs at temperatures of between 64F and 165F. There is a marvelous play of color in the evening and early morning.
