The town of Oshkosh on Lake Winnebago, north-west of Milwaukee, would be unknown to fame but for the world's largest meet of aviators held here annually in July/August. The total number of aircraft that have attended these meets is now over 10,000. There is an Air Adventure Museum in the town.
Enthusiasts of airplanes and everything to do with them will want to visit the EAA AirVenture Museum located in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Over 250 aircraft are on display and visitors can go flying as well. The EAA AirVenture Museum is large facility so be prepared to do some walking from attraction to attraction.

Located in Oshkosh, the Grand Opera House harkens back to an earlier day. Built in 1883 and restored to its former glory the Grand Opera House is a wonderful place to catch a show. Be sure to check in with the box office to see what's playing.
Located in Oshkosh, Wisconsin the Menominee Park Zoo will be sure to delight all visitors. The park has an interesting program related to its animals - it leases them. This allows the zoo to rotate in new and interesting animals on a yearly basis.
Visitors interested in the history of the military and its involvement in past conflicts will want to be sure to check out the Military Veterans Park in Oshkosh. On display are weapons, uniforms, photographs, and military equipment ranging from items from the Civil War to present day. The Military Veterans Park is housed in a beautiful new modern building and is a pleasure to visit.

Visitors to Oshkosh who wish to delve deeper into the city and region's history will find the Oshkosh Public Museum a great resource. The facility houses all kinds of information on the region and on Lake Winnebago in particular. Visitors can watch the famous Apostles Clock chime the hour, stroll through the 1908 Sawyer mansion, and check out the traveling exhibitions scheduled throughout the year.

The Paine Art Center and Arboretum houses three permanent exhibitions and eight to twelve traveling events per year. The center has a strong collection of artwork including works by Whistler and Durer. On the grounds are beautiful gardens that are lovingly maintained. The Paine Art Center is housed in a dramatic 1912 Tudor Revival house.
