Brewster Tourist Attractions

In Brewster, on Cape Cod Bay, are the Cape Cod Aquarium and the Drummer Boy Museum (story of the American Revolution). Outside the town is the interesting Cape Cod Museum of Natural History, devoted to the natural history of the peninsula.

Cape Cod Museum of Natural History

The Cape Cod Museum of Natural History is located on an 80-acre tract of land containing three nature trails that pass by the salt water marsh, woods and a major herring run. The museum building houses two floors of natural history exhibits including whales, indigenous birds and aquariums with different species of crustaceans, mollusks, fish, frogs, turtles and snakes.

Stony Brook Grist Mill

Built in 1751 and still working today, Stony Brook Grist Mill uses the force of the adjacent stream to grind grains into flour and corn into cornmeal. It has not been in commercial operation since the late 1940's. The Stony Brook Museums opened the building to visitors in the late 1960's. Stony Brook Grist Mill was placed on the register of National Historic Places in 1990.

New England Fire and History Museum (closed)

ATTRACTION IS CLOSED.
The exhibits within the five buildings that make up the New England Fire and History Museum trace the history of firefighting in the region and in the US. Visitors can see old equipment, photos, antique fire engines, and a realistic diorama of the Great Chicago Fire.
