Philadelphia - Fairmount Park

Founded in 1812, Fairmount Park is a 4,400-acre parkland bordering the Schuykill River and Wissahickon Creek. Within it are the Philadelphia Zoological Gardens and the Philadelphia Museum of Art. There are also gardens, day camps, ball fields, swimming pools, tennis courts, hiking paths, picnic areas and playgrounds.

The banks of the Schuylkill was the site of the homes of the city's wealthy, now open to the public. These opulent domiciles can be found along Kelly Drive, Lansdowne Avenue and near Dauphin Street.
