Strasburg was settled by French Huguenots and later by Germans in the Pennsylvania Dutch Country. Strasburg is noted for its Amish culture and railroad exhibits.
Visitors can tour an authentically furnished Old Order Amish farmhouse. Built in 1840, guides explain the history, clothing, furniture and Amish way of life. Other buildings on the ground include a one-room schoolhouse, barn, blacksmith shop and springhouse.

In the early 18th century, Herr's Mill was a place to stop between trips, purchase supplies and exchange news for locals and visitors alike. The Mill and the Village functioned throughout the 1800's and into the turn of the century. The 1738 Herr's Grist Mill and the 1844 Covered Bridge are found within the village. Buildings have been restored and include a blacksmith, broommaker, quilter, buggy rides, an operating gristmill, Victorian Music Room, and Nickelodeon Theater.
The National Toy Train Museum displays floor toys, electric trains and train-related accessories including those from the mid-1800s through the present. Models include Lionel, American Flyer, Marx, Marklin, LGB among others.

The Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania displays historic railroad artifacts. Displays include over 100 locomotives and cars from the mid-nineteenth and twentieth centuries, art work, books, photographs and corporate railroad material.

Sight & Sound Theatre presents theatrical and musical performances based on Bible stories. Some of the stories performed in this 2,000-seat theater include In the Beginning, Miracle of Christmas and Behold the Lamb. Special effects as well as live and animatronic animals are featured.
