Scotts Bluff National Monument Description
Within easy reach of Scottsbluff, in the far west of the state, are several places of interest. Scotts Bluff, just south of the town was an important landmark for settlers and Pony Express riders on their journey to the west. A circular road takes visitors round the most notable features (including the tracks of wagon wheels) and to the interesting Oregon Trail Museum.

The monument museum features exhibits on the human and natural history of the area and has a collection of paintings by the photographer and artist, William Henry Jackson.
