Farley Hill National Park

The national park is a hilltop garden which once were the grounds of a rich plantation house since reduced to a shell of stone walls by fire and the elements. These ruins are in themselves an artistic arrangement of arches framing the flowers and palms. The structure built in 1818, has a core of central rooms plus an outer arcaded hallway which encircles the house much like a porch, only it was a closed structure. The style is seen in a few plantations in Barbados.

The vista from the top of the hill in back of the house delights the eye with the ocean plus rolling hills covered with palms, sugar cane fields and wild areas.
