Colorado Springs hotels come in all styles and budgets and offer something for couples, families, or business travelers alike when it comes to location and amenities. Determining where to stay may depend on what you plan to do while you're in the city.
Natural attractions like Pikes Peak, the 14,000-plus-foot-high mountain that inspired the song America the Beautiful can be accessed via hiking trails, cog railway, or in a personal vehicle as a paved road goes to the very top. All three routes to the summit of Pikes Peak are in nearby Manitou Springs, which is a laid-back mountain town with a different vibe than Colorado Springs and a number of lodging options, including quaint bed and breakfasts, hotels, and vintage motels.
Many of the 4- and 5-star hotels and resorts in town are located near one of the top attractions: the stunning, natural red rock park in the middle of the city known as Garden of the Gods. There are also a number of mid-range hotels in the small downtown area, which is set around Tejon Street between Colorado Ave and Platte Ave and home to numerous restaurants and shops.
Families will like staying up north near the US Air Force Academy, which has a campus in Colorado Springs. Even if you don't plan to visit the academy itself, this part of town features a lot of hotels, including extended stay choices, with kid-focused amenities. It is also easy to access, as it is located just off I-25, which runs north-south through Colorado Springs.
Note: Some businesses may be temporarily closed due to recent global health and safety issues.
