The Longest Walkable Pier In California Is Full Of Shops, Restaurants, And Seaside Fun

Typically, when discussing travel destinations in California, Southern California gets the most attention, with cities like Los Angeles, San Diego, and Solana Beach, the beach town ideal for laid-back summer fun, dominating the conversation. What's even more remarkable is that the wharf experienced significant damage in 2024 and has since bounced back to reopen in February of 2026.

Second, there are numerous shops where you can buy souvenirs and accessories. Finally, you can spot sea lions, sea birds, and even whales and dolphins as they migrate past Monterey Bay. As you stroll down the walkway, you may hear scores of sea lions sitting on the wooden posts and the dedicated sea lion deck. While it may be tempting to feed them, it's not a wise idea, as it's illegal. If you're more interested in dolphins and whales, they pass by the wharf mostly between December and April.
