California's Unique New Glamping Experience Outside Of Yosemite Is Coming Soon In 2026
Yosemite National Park beckons travelers from across the country and beyond for its magnificent waterfalls and stunning rock formations. And soon, there will be an even more immersive way to experience it. Luxury glamping resort chain Under Canvas is opening its Yosemite property in April 2026. The provider of high-end outdoor accommodations operates a dozen resorts across the United States and is opening its first location in California just minutes outside of Yosemite National Park, one of the most visited national parks in the country.
The forested, 85-acre glamping park features four different sizes and styles of tents for all types of travelers. Each unit has private restroom facilities with organic bath products, king size beds, cozy furniture, and other thoughtful touches for a weekend in the wilderness — think board games, hot cocoa, and s'mores. The tents sleep anywhere from two to six people (and your dog, for an extra fee) and each accommodation is unique. For example, the Stargazer tent has a viewing window above the bed, perfect for those who want to drift off under the night sky. While wi-fi is intentionally excluded from the amenities, power banks are provided to charge small electronics. Plus, with so many activities on offer, you'll hardly have time to scroll.
Under Canvas Yosemite is more than just a place to sleep
Guests at Under Canvas Yosemite will have access to seasonal excursions provided by the the on-site "Adventure Concierge" team, whose job it is to plan the perfect itinerary for your stay. Whether you're keen to hike through a forest of giant sequoia trees, try fly fishing, go rafting in class III and IV rapids, or get up close to the park's breathtaking, towering waterfalls, there's an experienced guide ready to help you do it all. The Sierra Sunset group walk comes with a barbecue dinner and a guided stargazing tour by a local expert.
After a long day of fun, guests can refuel at the property's al fresco restaurant, Embers, which features a California-inspired dinner menu with shrimp tacos, rice bowls, hearty bison chili, and much more. If you're looking for a pre-hike power snack, you'll have grab-and-go options made on site, as well as a breakfast menu featuring fresh juices, pancakes, avocado toast, and even a full continental breakfast.
Under Canvas Yosemite is located 10 minutes from the park's west entrance, near the Big Oak Flat Information Station. It's easily accessible on the Yosemite Area Regional Transportation System (YARTS) that runs through the park. Visitors from out of state can fly into the recently expanded Fresno International Airport, and take YARTS from Fresno directly to the glamping resort. Reservations can be made on the Under Canvas website from mid-April to late October 2026, with prices starting at $319 per night, at the time of writing.
