Yorktown Battlefield
The Yorktown Battlefield located near the town of the same name is a National Park. It was at Yorktown Battlefield that the English Army surrendered to the combined American and French Armies. Visitors will find interesting interpretive displays and dioramas. The events on the battlefield are well documented and laid out for easy understanding. Park Ranges also guide tours on a regular basis, be sure to check the schedule.

Grace Episcopal Church
Grace Church has been standing since 1697 despite the ravages of war during the two sieges of Yorktown (1781 and 1862) and despite the "great fire" of 1814. Communion silver dating from 1649 is still in use.

Moore House
Moore House located in Yorktown was built in the early 18th Century. It is notable because it was at Moore House that Cornwallis and his British Army surrendered. Moore House is part of the Colonial National Historical Park.
Nelson House
Nelson House located in Yorktown has a particularly interesting feature with a cannonball lodged in the wall near the upper window. The restored mansion is an excellent example of Georgian architecture. Nelson House is located on Main Street in Yorktown's Historical District.
Site of Washington's Headquarters
The Site of Washington's Headquarters is on the Yorktown Battlefield located near the city of the same name. The battlefield features interpretive displays and ranger led talks. The park also features a program of special events that celebrate the history of the park and the surrender of the British Army to General Washington

The Battlefield is located in the Colonial National Historic Park near Yorktown. It was on this battlefield that Lord Cornwallis was forced to surrender to the combined American and French Armies. It was this surrender that paved the way for American Independence.

Yorktown Monument to Alliance and Victory
The Yorktown Monument to Alliance and Victory is a stunning white marble monument erected in 1881. The Yorktown Monument to Alliance and Victory has four sides and on each side, there are inscriptions describing the battle for the casual observer. The monument was erected as a testament to the French and American victory at Yorktown that resulted in American Independence.
