Headquarters of the Military Committee of the Communist Party of China

In the village of Wangjia Ping, to the northwest of Yan'an, the public can visit the headquarters of the Military Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) which was housed here from 1937 to 1947.
From 1938 to 1940 and again from 1942 to 1943 the offices of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) were located in the village of Yangjia Ling, 3m/2mi northwest of Ya'an; from 1940 to 1942 and again from 1944 to 1947 they were in Zaoyuan, 10km/6.25mi northwest of the town. Here visitors can see the offices and the residential quarters of the top Communist party leaders such as Mao Zedong, Zhu De, Zhou Enlai and others.
