The city of Sheridan was once home to Buffalo Bill Cody who stayed at the Sheridan Inn. The city today retains its frontier atmosphere with 30 restored buildings on the National Register. Also of note is the multitude of shops selling authentic Western gear. Sheridan has several interesting museums, some of which are free to enter.
At the Bradford Brinton Memorial, visitors will find an idyllic setting and fine art collected by its owner, Bradford Brinton. In addition to the artworks, visitors will see a gentleman's working ranch completely outfitted, as it would have been in the 1920s and 1930s. The Bradford Brinton Memorial hosts a regular rotation of exhibits so be sure to call to see what is coming up.

The Fetterman Massacre Monument is located 17 miles South of Sheridan on US Highway 14. Here visitors will find a site marking the attack on Fetterman and his 80 men by the local Indians. There is also a walking trail that traces the actual Bozeman Route.
One of 17 National Historic Landmarks in Wyoming, the Sheridan Inn was once home to Buffalo Bill Cody and his Wild West show. The inn opened in 1893 at 5th and Broadway, and has been in operation ever since. At the moment there are no accommodations at the Sheridan Inn, but a restaurant is in operation and meals are available.

The Trail End State Historic Site provides a glimpse into life during the timeframe of 1913-1939. On the site is a large 13,748 square foot home that is done up in the styles and fashions of the time. Throughout the home are exhibits explaining various aspects of ranching on the Northern Plains.

Built in the heyday of Vaudeville Theater, the WYO Theater in Sheridan was in use for 60 years until it closed in 1982. It was saved from the wrecking ball in the late 1980's and since then it has been beautifully restored to its former glory. Now the WYO Theater is one of the main entertainment venues in this small Northern Plains city.
