Bighorn Mountains Attractions

In northern Wyoming are the beautiful Bighorn Mountains (13,186 ft). On their eastern slopes are the two little cattle-ranching towns of Buffalo and Sheridan, now tourist centers. For a drive through awe-inspiring mountain scenery, leave Buffalo on U.S. 16, which runs over the Powder River Pass (9666 ft) and then, in Ten Sleep Canyon, through millions of years of the earth's history. The journey ends in Ten Sleep (pop. 400), which still retains something of the atmosphere of the Wild West.
