Würzburg Cathedral

(Local Name: Dom) To the west of the Residenz in Würzburg is the Cathedral (Dom; 11th-13th C.; interior destroyed by fire in 1945, restored in modern style). It contains a number of fine bishops' tombs, including those of Rudolf von Scherenberg and Lorenz von Bibra (both by Tilman Riemenschneider). In the north aisle is the Schönborn Chapel (by Bathasar Neumann, 1721-36).
