Wuppertal Elevated Railway

Barmen, Elberfeld and Vohwinkel are linked by Wuppertal's famous elevated railroad (13.3km/8.25mi long), constructed between 1898 and 1901.

It is a suspended monorail system, unique in the world, which straddles a river for part of the route.

There are 13.3km of track on one route with 19 stations.

The railway is fully integrated with bus and rail systems in the city.
