Waukesha Attractions
The city of Waukesha was once a thriving resort town. Colonel Richard Dunbar promoted the healing powers of the local spring water and from that visitors came to try them out. This lasted until 1916. Today the city is still going strong and has a well-preserved historical downtown core with interesting architecture.
The Waukesha County Museum features displays on the American Civil War, Aboriginal history, the local area and other interesting items. Housed in a spectacular old building, the museum is worth a visit even if you don't go inside. The museum hosts a variety of traveling exhibits, be sure to check in to see what's coming up.
