Completed in 1854 Kildonan Presbyterian Church on John Black Avenue was the first of this particular denomination in western Canada.
The stone design of the Kildonan Presbyterian Church is modeled after the small parish churches of Great Britain. Mr Duncan McRae, a Red River stonemason of some note, supervised the construction of this historic building. The Kildonan Presbyterian Church has rough stone walls, pointed windows, and a gable roof. An interesting façade design was added to the Kildonan Presbyterian church to add a bit of artistic flair.
The church is surrounded by an ancient graveyard with many old and interesting headstones of settlers long ago departed.
