Anahim Lake

Anahim Lake (142 km (88 mi.)), at the western end of the Chilcotin Plateau and a westerly provisions center, is a starting-out point for wilderness tours. A certain degree of "outdoor experience" and a locally knowledgeable guide are recommended.

Most of the trips out of Anahim Lake are hiking or horseback trips through the Itcha Mountains, the Ilgachuz Mountains, and the Rainbow Mountains.

Must-see attractions nearby:
Anahim Lake is home to a Native community and gateway to the south part of Tweedsmuir Provincial Park. If you are here in July don't miss the Anahim Lake Stampede.

There is an air serive here with regular flights to Bella Coola.
