Black Diamond Attractions
The little town of Black Diamond, named for the Black Diamond coal company that used to operate here, dates to the late 19th Century. Today, with a population of just under 4,000 this little town, less than an hours drive inland from Seattle, is still going strong. Many people now commute to the city for work.
Black Diamond Historical Museum
The Black Diamond Museum is located in the old town train depot that was restored by the local community. The museum's collection includes a 1921 Caboose which rests in front of the museum.
The Black Diamond Museum also maintains the early 1900s jail house, although it is located offsite from the museum itself.

Flaming Geyser State Park
Flaming Geyser State Park is a day-use park located along the Green River. The parks claim to fame and name sake are the geysers created by underlying coal seams. Interpretive display explain the phenomenon. Flaming Geyser State Park is also a good place to see salmon spawning.
