Auburn Attractions

Auburn, population 40,000, is a suburb of Seattle. The town was originally named Slaughter, for William Slaughter. It was later renamed Auburn, after Auburn, New York but the name Slaughter persisted on many buildings and establishments for quite some time.

White River Valley Museum
The White River Valley Museum in Auburn offers changing exhibits on the history of the area, and the nation. The museum also has a permanent display including a pioneer cabin, one room schoolhouse, and an old caboose. Tours are available.

There is always something new going on at the White River Valley Museum so be sure to check in advance to see what's happening.
