Wangaratta - Surroundings

To the south of Wangaratta is King Valley; an attractive trip takes in this and the Paradise Falls, or you can follow the Ovens Highway via Bright to Mount Buffalo National Park. 16km south is Glenrowan (pop. 220), where the bushranger and folk hero Ned Kelly was captured in 1880. There is an exhibition in the visitor information center on the story of the Kelly gang.
