Cardigan/Aberteifi (pop. 4,000) is a busy little market town on the banks of the Teifi (pronounced Tivi), 2.5mi/4km above its mouth. A six-arched bridge, built at the beginning of the 18th century, spans the Teifi, renowned for its salmon and trout, in the town center. Nearby two round towers from a 13th century medieval castle can be seen.
The Teifi Valley is a traditional base of the Welsh woolen industry. The Museum of the Welsh Woolen Industry in Dre-Fach Felindre informs visitors about the combing and spinning of wool, and about old weaving techniques and patterns.
In addition there are displays focusing on contemporary products in the Welsh mills.

The Bro Meigan Gardens are located just 6 miles from Cardigan on the Preseli Tour route. This is a modern, stylish garden created by its owners. On a walk around the gardens you are presented with a large selection of garden plants and views of the Preseli Hills.

Cilgerran Castle features two imposing towers overlooking the River Teif, which is famous for its coracle fishermen. The ruins of 13th C Cilgerran Castle, which was built on a high cliff on the south bank of Teifi Valley, offers a spectacular view.

The Cardigan Heritage Centre is a new visitor and interpretative centre. It is situated on Teifi Wharf in an 18th century warehouse. Through a combination of artifacts, and high-tech, multi-media displays the history of the former county town of Cardigan is told from pre-Norman times to the present. The full history of the Port of Cardigan is also told, beginning with its Medieval origins through to its heyday in the 18th and 19th centuries up to the present.

The Welsh Wildlife Centre is one of Wales top nature reserves. The 265 acres of land provide a natural habitat to otters, birds, wildflowers and butterflies. It includes a Nature Reserve along the River Teifi and a Water World that is a habitat for mini-beasts and water wildlife.

The center offers activities for riders of all levels. Riding trails go through wooded valleys and 120 acres of private farmland. Tuition is also available in riding and show jumping. Unaccompanied children over age 11 are welcome.

The National Coracle Centre in Cardigan houses the world's largest collection of Coracles from around the world. Coracles are hand-crafted skin boats whose style dates back to the ice age and are still used by fishermen on River Teifi.
The centre is located along the beautiful Cenarth Falls and there are excellent views of the Salmon Leap Falls and a 200 year old bridge. You can visit a 17th century flour mill while you are in the vicinity.
