Salem Attractions

The town name of Salem conjures up many thoughts, however it should not to be confused with Salem, MA that was once the site of the Salem Witchcraft Trials. Salem VA is a very pleasant place to visit. The town is located in the beautiful Blue Mountains and is an outdoor enthusiast's paradise. Hiking, walking, biking and just plain relaxing are the main attractions. The town has an active Arts and Culture scene, boasts of fine restaurants, and is blessed with several fine museums.
Dixie Caverns
The Dixie Caverns can be visited on a guided tour offered by the Dixie Caverns and Pottery Shop in Salem. The caverns are well lit and suitable for anyone, including children.

Salem Museum
The Salem Museum, located in the city of the same name, should not to be confused with the Salem Witch Museum. The Salem Museum provides the history and background of the local area and frequently hosts a rotating gallery of local artwork. It is housed in the historic Williams-Brown House.
