The Lee Hall Mansion in Newport News has been beautifully restored. The mansion features period pieces and exhibits on the history of the area. The mansion was built in 1858 by Richard Decauter Lee. A gift shop is on the premises allowing visitors to take home a memento of their visit.

The Mariners' Museum in Newport News displays a vast collection of seafaring artifacts, including model ships, artwork, unique figureheads, and more. The museum grounds are also impressive with a walking trail and picnic sites.

The Newport News City Park is a huge green area covering over 8,000 acres. Visitors will find walking trails, biking trails, a large campground, a Discovery Center, golf courses, picnic areas and playgrounds.
Located in Newport News, the Peninsula Fine Arts Center, more commonly called PFAC, features changing exhibits in all media. PFAC also has an Art School, offering a range of classes to the general public.
