Maria Gail

On the eastern bank of the Gail lies Maria Gail, with a fine old parish church. Note the beautiful Late Gothic winged altar of 1520, depicting the Crowning of the Madonna, surmounted by the Dove of the Holy Spirit and a choir of angels; various Biblical scenes can be seen on the side panels of the altar and there are frescos (14th C.) showing the "Flagellation of Christ".
