Description
At the entrance to the village, on the right, stands a very simple granite-built church (13th C.). A plain Romanesque doorway leads into the dark and rather damp interior, which has faded 15th century wall paintings of Christ surrounded by SS Paul, Luke, Peter and Mark and the female figures (Galician donas) from which the church takes its name. Against the right-hand wall of the nave are a number of grave slabs of knights of the Order of Santiago, with their coats of arms, including a particularly fine one with the figure of a knight in full relief.
