On the northwest side of Ste Lucia Square are the new Law Courts, built on the ruins of Gerolamo Cassar's Auberge d'Auvergne, which was destroyed during the World War II.

The bronze Great Siege monument facing the building is by the Maltese artist Antonio Sciortino.
