Vangsmjøsa
From Fagernes, E 16 runs along a number of small fjords, passing through Lomen (13th century stave church with fine interior) and Ryfoss, to the southern shore of Lake Vangsmjøsa (19km/12mi long), which it follows to Grindaheim (alt. 471m/1,545ft). The stave church which once stood at Vang, just before Grindaheim, was dismantled in 1841 and taken to Brückenberg in Silesia (now in Poland), and the site is now occupied by Vang's white wooden church. Beside the church is a runic stone with the inscription "Gose's sons set up this stone for Gunnar, their brother's son".
