Uintah-Ouray Indian Reservation

The Uintah-Ouray Indian Reservation makes up 2,500 square miles of Uintah and Duchesne Counties in northeastern Utah. The headquarters of the reservation are located at Fort Duchesne where there is an annual Ute Pow Wow.

Fort Duchesne, Utah
From 1886 until 1912, Fort Duchesne (pop. 600) was a United States Army military post. It is now the headquarters of the Uintah-Ouray Indian Reservation, with many of the historic buildings still standing.
Fort Duchesne - Ute Tribal Museum
The Ute Tribal Museum at Fort Duchesne features artifacts from the old fort. It also contains a library of 160 books specializing in Native American history and various pioneer and tribal artifacts.
