Summit County

Coalville (pop. 1,400) is the county seat and second-largest town in Summit County in north central Utah.

The Echo Reservoir is located at the north end of the Historic Union Pacific Trail near Coalville on the Weber River. It offers boating and fishing opportunities.

Francis (pop. 700) is located in Summit County on the edge of the Uinta National Forest. The town is 20km/12mi northeast of Heber City in north central Utah.

The small town of Henefer (pop. 685) is located 30mi/48km northeast of Salt Lake City. The town is in Summit County near the East Canyon State Park.

The Historic Union Pacific Rail Trail State Park is a 28mi/45 km route. It follows Interstate 80 from Park City to Echo Reservoir. Elevations on the trail range from 5,280 to 6,900 feet.

Kamas (pop. 1,270) is the third-largest town in Summit County, Utah. Ranching and tourism are the town's main industries.

Oakley (pop. 950) is located on Highway 32 to the northwest of the Uinta National Forest in Summit County northcentral Utah.

The Rockport State Park is located on the Rockport Reservoir, 45mi/72km east of Salt Lake City. Summer recreation includes fishing, water-skiing, swimming, sailboarding and sailboating. Ice fishing and cross-country skiing are popular in the winter.
