Moab Tourist Attractions

Moab (pop. 4,800) is the seat of Grand County. While the main industry is tourism, Moab was for many years a booming uranium mining town.

Butch Cassidy's King World Water Park

King World in Moab was built with the same natural hidden box canyon walls that were once used by Butch Cassidy and the "Wild Bunch" to house their cattle and horses, and to receive water from the natural spring-fed pond.
This is the site of the world-famous "KING WORLD", which was sculpted on a 40-ton boulder in the early 30's by an eccentric European immigrant, Ahaaron Andeew. It features five slides and three pools.

Dan O'Laurie Museum

The Dan O'Laurie Museum in Moab features natural and cultural history exhibits of the Canyonlands region. Exhibits include prehistoric tools, textiles, pottery, and jewelry as well as a display of Ute artifacts, including rare ceramic pieces.
With Moab the center of a uranium boom in the 1950s, the mining exhibit explains how uranium is found, how deposits are formed and features historic mining tools.

Arts Center

The Moab Arts and Recreation was formed in 1997 and offers educational, cultural, and recreational programs.
Every fall the Moab Arts Center puts on a Canyonland Arts and Performance Festival, featuring stage productions by the Moab Community Theatre and music by the Moab Community Chorus.

Hole 'N the Rock

Hole 'N The Rock is a huge home located 12m/19km south of Moab. The space was carved out of the sandstone over two decades beginning in the 1940's. There are paintings and sculptures by the original owners, Albert and Gladys Christensen. Outside the home is a rock and cactus garden.

Bar-M Chuckwagon

The Bar-M Chuckwagon in Moab is located 4 mi/6.4km north of the Arches National Park entrance. The site offers a western dinner show as well as gunfights, games and saloons.

Hollywood Stuntmen's Hall of Fame

The Hollywood Stuntmen's Hall of Fame in Moab was established in 1973. It features costumes, equipment and exhibits relating to hundreds of world-renowned stuntmen and films.

Moab Skyway

Moab's Skyway is a quad chairlift that carries visitors to the Moab Rim. There are spectacular views of Moab, the Colorado River, LaSal Mountains and Arches National Park.
