Hardware Ranch
South of Logan and east of Hyrum in the Wasatch-Cache National Forest is Hardware Ranch a 14,000 acre working ranch with snowmobiling facilities, an interpretive visitor center, and wildlife viewing.
Mount Naomi Wilderness
The Mount Naomi Wilderness occupies almost 45,000 acres of the Wasatch-Cache National Forest near Logan. There are numerous trails featuring wildflowers, beavers, moose and elk.
Wellsville Mountain Wilderness
The Wellsville Mountain Wilderness was created by the US Government in 1984 and occupies 23,750 acres of the Wasatch-Cache National Forest in northeast Utah just south of Logan.
The Wellsville Mountains are home to moose, mountain lions and bighorn sheep. There is a two-hour hike to a ridge in the north end, where various migrating birds are visible in autumn.
