Kanab (pop. 3,600) is the county seat and largest town in Kane County, located south of Bryce Canyon National Park near the Arizona border in southern Utah. It was first settled in 1864.
Best Friends is located north of Kanab. It is a shelter for abandoned and mistreated animals. It is home to about 1,500 dogs, cats, wildcats, birds, horses and rabbits.

The Frontier Movie Town in Kanab features props from many movie sets from the "Little Hollywood" glory days when hundreds of film companies turned the diverse scenery into images of the American West. Some of the sets on display include The Outlaw Josey Wales, Sergeants 3, Desperate Hours, One Little Indian, and Black Bart.
The Moqui Cave is located northwest of Kanab in southern Utah. It features dinosaur tracks and other exhibits including the lives & architectural achievements of the Ancient Americans of Southern Utah during the pueblo period.
