Escalante Canyons

The Escalante Canyons were formed by the Escalante River and its tributaries. They make up the eastern section of Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument. There is a scenic drive along Highway 12, with the canyons dropping away to either side. This is a great area for hiking and climbing.
