Founded in 1854, Ephraim (pop. 4,500) is the largest town in Sanpete County. Since 1976 the town has celebrated its Nordic heritage with a Scandinavian Festival, held the weekend before Memorial Day in the town square. Ephraim is the site of Snow College which was founded in 1888.
