Daggett County is located on the slopes of the Uintah Mountains. It is part of the Dinosaurland travel region. The county is named for Ellworth Daggett who the first Utah Surveyor General.

The relatively new town of Dutch John is the larger of the two main towns in Daggett County. It was built primarily to provide homes for the people who work at nearby Flaming Gorge Dam.
John Jarvie Ranch
The John Jarvie Ranch in Daggett County is a group of four historic buildings on the Green River. There is a stone house built by outlaw Jack Bennett, the two-room John Jarvie home, the blacksmith shop and general store. The ranch is a National Historic Site.

The headquarters of the Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area is located in Manila. It is open to visitors year round.
