The 6,750-acre Ashdown Gorge Wilderness Area is part of the Cedar City Ranger District of Dixie National Forest in southern Utah. It is adjacent to Cedar Breaks National Monument and ranges in elevation from 8,000 to 10,400 feet. The two main hiking trails are Rattlesnake Trail which is 5 miles long and Potato Hollow Trail which is 2.5 miles long.
Brian Head Peak is a volcanic peak located east of Cedar City in the Dixie National Forest. From the summit at 11,315 feet there are views of much of southern Utah. The town and ski resort of Brian Head are located on the slopes of Brian Head Peak.

The water for Cascade Falls comes from Navaho Lake and flows through underground lava tubes and out a hole in the side of a mountain. The path to the falls is a short 0.8mi/1.3km hike.
The water in Duck Creek comes from nearby Navajo Lake. The creek is located east of Cedar City in the Dixie National Forest. There is a visitor center open daily from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
