Upper Austria - Natural Features

Upper Austria is rich in interesting natural features. The most notable among the caves of the region are the famous Dachstein Caves (the Giant Ice Cave and the Mammoth Cave). At Ebensee on the Traunsee you will find the Gassl stalactitic cave, at Carbach the Rötlsee cave. There are also a whole series of picturesque defiles and gorges, including the Burgauklamm at the southern end of the Attersee, the Gosauzwang near Hallstatt, the Koppenschlucht at Obertraun, the impressive gorge on the Steyr at Klaus, the Trattenbachfall near Spital am Pyhrn, the Traunfall at Gmunden, the Vogelsangklamm at Spital am Pyhrn and the Waldbachstrub near Hallstatt.
