Umm al-Quwain Tourist Attractions

Umm al-Quwain is situated between Ajman and Ras al-Khaimah. It is the capital of the emirate of Umm al-Quwain offering a relaxed atmosphere, long beaches and an enclosed lagoon. The natural lagoon is ideal for water sports and small boat activities.The city of Umm al-Quwain has the preserved remains of an old fort with defensive cannons at the main gate. The fort has two rounded towers and a higher wall located behind the towers that are mostly in ruin. Three old watchtowers also guard access to the town.A major attraction in Umm al-Quwain is Dreamland, an aqua park that is among the largest in the world.
Dreamland Aqua Park
Dreamland Aqua Park in Umm al-Quwain is a huge entertainment complex with over 25 attractions for children and adults making it an ideal family destination. Aquatic attractions include a lazy river, children's wading pools, black holes, twisters, crazy rivers, Kamikaze rides and a giant wave pool. Dreamland also has a multi-purpose facility that includes an amphitheater that can be used as a venue for musical concerts and other similar activities. Shaded palm gardens and a roaring volcano surrounded by replicas of wild animals add to the scenery.Overnight camping, water polo, beach volleyball and go-karts are other activities that can be enjoyed while visiting Dreamland.
Umm al-Quwain Museum
The fort of Umm al-Quwain once guarded the entrance to the old town by overseeing the sea on one side and the creek on the other. The Umm al-Quwain fort has been renovated and now houses a museum.The museum displays artifacts found at important nearby archeological sites including Al Door. The exhibits provide a fascinating glimpse into a bygone period.A wall that once surrounded the original settlement is scheduled for restoration.
Emirates Motorplex
Emirates Motorplex is a facility offering car and motorcycle racing. It began in 1999 to offer an alternative to popular street racing activities.
