Munkegat Description
From the Market Square of Trondheim, Munkegata runs south to the Cathedral. On the right (No. 20) is the imposing Tinghus (1951), with two bronze doors and colored ceramic reliefs depicting episodes in the history of the town. Beyond this, also on the right (No. 8), is the Cathedral School, in an 18th century brick building. On the opposite side of the street is the Nordenfjeld Museum of Applied Art (Kunstindustrimuseum), with examples of modern Scandinavian design. To the south stands the Town Hall (Rådhus).
