Trondheim - Market Square

(Local Name: Torget) The central feature of Trondheim and the hub of its traffic is the Market Square (Torget), at the intersection of its two main traffic arteries, Kongensgata and Munkegata. In the center of the square rises a tall octagonal column bearing a statue of Olav Tryggvason (1923). At the foot of the monument, set into the paving, are letters marking the four cardinal points (N-V-S-Ø).
