Padmanabhaswamy Temple Description
Padmanabhaswamy Temple in Trivandrum is 260 years old and officially open to Hindus only but tourists can request permission a visit to see the murals, sculptures and carved pillars.

Rebuilt in 1733, Padmanabhaswamy Temple is a Dravidian style building dedicated to Lord Vishnu one of the most revered and powerful Hindu deities. The idol of the deity lies in the main sanctum of Padmanabhaswamy.

The intricate carvings on the 365 pillars of the temple, and the lovely murals and frescoes on the walls and ceilings are not to be missed.

Padmanabhaswamy Temple overlooks the Padma Theeram Tank where devotees take ritual baths. The seven-story gatehouse is located behind the temple tank.
