Trento to Monte Bondone

For an attractive drive to Monte Bondone leave Trento on the Riva road, going northwest, and in 3km/2mi turn left into a road which winds its way southwest via the village of Sardagna (571m/1,884ft, also reached by cableway from the banks of the Adige) and Candriai (1,025m/3,383ft), to the hotel settlement of Vaneze (1,300m/4,290ft), beautifully situated on the slopes of Monte Bondone and popular both as a summer and winter sports resort.

The highest peak in the range, Palon (2,098m/6,923ft), can be climbed in 2 hours, or can be reached by means of two chair-lifts (via Vason, 1,650m/5,445ft). There are other chair-lifts on the north side of Monte Bondone (e.g. Montesel, 1,739m/5,739ft).
